  • Gloria Robinson Bleck ’45

Sage Ring member Gloria Robinson Bleck ’45 created her legacy in 1994 at age 70, on the occasion of her 50th Reunion, by establishing a charitable gift annuity. This gift offered a supplemental retirement income during Gloria’s and her husband Max’s lifetimes and a future gift to Russell Sage College.  Through her generosity and foresight, upon the passing of both Gloria and Max, Russell Sage received the remainder of their charitable gift annuity in 2019 to benefit Sage students.

“Gloria shared a great passion for life and her alma mater. She came to every one of her Reunions, health permitting. Residing in Troy, New York, Gloria majored in biology and then attained a professional certificate in Physical Therapy from Duke University.  Max and Gloria were married upon Max’s return from World War II naval service and subsequent graduation from RPI.

Gloria devoted full time to her duties at home for her three children and grandchildren.  Always active and a lover of the outdoors, Gloria and Max enjoyed gardening, travelling, and mixed doubles tennis.  Gloria also played duplicate bridge and was a licensed private pilot.”

A charitable gift annuity involves a simple contract whereby you agree to make a gift to Sage and we, in return, agree to pay you (and someone else, if you choose) a fixed amount each year for the rest of your life. You man also qualify for a variety of tax benefits, including a federal income tax charitable deduction should you itemize.  Your payments depend on your age at the time of the donation.
